Wishlist. Please make suggestions you'd like to see in the library.

I really like the idea of the group area for listening - think that can definitely be incorporated. Also access to digital information needs to be a priority - but I need to know what you or your students will want to access! Many seniors are really not using the resources available - is it because they don't know what is available or are they not being encouraged to develop enquiry skills for themselves????I'm not sure what the impact of the student laptops will be. Next time you come to the library, please try to take note of your first impressions. I think we need to improve the signage and use the highly visible area at the entrance more effectively. I am currently culling the collection heavily - studies have shown that this can really improve usage statistics, especially when combined with front facing displays and other "retail marketing strategies".Keep the suggestions coming!

Welcome to the GTHS Library Renewal Blog!

To reflect the importance Gymea THS places on Literacy, Life-long learning, Information skills and technology I have decided we need to rethink how we use the space and resources in the Library. I envisage major changes in layout and presentation but also want to cater better for the needs of our school community in terms of the collection and services offered. In order to undertake such a challenge (which I anticipate will need to be over a timeframe of several years) and to develop a master plan, I would like to gather as many suggestions and comments as possible.
